Breastfeeding While Working: 6 Essential Tools for Mothers to Use

TCE Baby14 May 202480

Maternity leave can feel really long, but it does end sometime. Going back to work after having a baby can sometimes be difficult for breastfeeding mothers. To prepare for breastfeeding at work, here are some important items that mothers should have:

1. Breast Pump:

There are two types: manual pumps and electric pumps. Manual ones are gentler and better for moms with more time and nipple pain. Electric pumps are easier to use but cost more.

Purpose: Makes pumping easier than doing it by hand.

2. Milk Storage Bags:

This item is good for most moms, especially those who need to store breast milk for a long time.

Purpose: Keeps extra breast milk safe in the fridge or freezer, and they're easy to use and throw away.

3. Milk Storage Bottles:

This item is best for moms who can pump out enough milk for babies to drink within a short time and do not need to store extra milk.

Purpose: Reusable bottles that are cheaper and some come with nipples for feeding.

4. Insulated Bag:

This item is best for moms whose office lacks a refrigerator.

Purpose: By placing blue ice or ice packs in the insulated bag and storing breast milk in it, you can temporarily refrigerate it.

5. Mommy Bag:

As this item helps store other important items, it is good for all moms to use.

Purpose: With a large storage space, it can carry items related to breastfeeding.

6. Nursing Pads:

This item is best for all moms during the summer when clothes are worn relatively less, to avoid embarrassment.

Purpose: To prevent milk leakage and wetting clothes.

Breastfeeding while working is tough, but don't be afraid, as breastfeeding is the choice of many working moms, and everyone is silently working hard on the same front line.
