Babies Moving Around Without Protection? 6 Safety Tips for Parents
Your babies are now starting to move around, walking and crawling. But how do you make sure that they can be safe without you looking for them 24-7? Here are 6 tips that you can use to help make sure they are safe:
Be careful of your baby being injured by falls or bruises

Sometimes, you will miss your babies and lose them, so when they are alone, these actions can help you keep them safe. Safety doors at the entrance of the stairs, to stop babies from falling down the stairs; guardrails on the windows, to stop babies from climbing out on their own; anti-collision strips on the sharp edges of furniture; these are some of the steps that you can do to help make sure that your babies are safe.
Keep your baby away from hot water and heating objects

Babies have sensitive skins, so hot surfaces are not safe for them; in fact, it can be dangerous. Do not put hot cups or soup bowls and other tableware near babies, or anywhere they can reach easily. Tools that can cause burns, such as electric irons and heaters at home, are also dangerous for them. Besides that, do not place hot water kettles, rice cookers, electric stew pots and other utensils on the floor.
Check regularly for water storage areas in your home

Babies of this age like to play in water, but they can also easily drown, even in water two to three centimetres deep. To avoid this, doors to toilets should be closed at ordinary times, and babies should not be allowed to get close to any place with water alone, such as swimming pools, reservoirs, and ponds. It is best for parents to learn CPR so that if babies have an accident, they can rescue them in time.
Put away anything that is easily eaten by mistake

Babies don’t know what to eat and what not to eat, so they will put things in their mouths when they pick them up. To avoid this, keep small objects, such as glass balls, coins, and button batteries away. Some things like medicines and dish soap can cause poisoning if the baby accidentally eats them, so they must be kept away from babies as well. Do not feed babies peanuts, melon seeds, grapes and other foods as they could cause babies to choke. Should anything happen, first aid skills can help you when babies accidentally swallow something and choke.
Keep the crib away from curtains and cords

Babies accidentally caught in the curtains and curtain ropes might be strangled and suffocated. To avoid this, try to buy curtains without cords or remember to tie them up. Do not place any soft items like pillows and stuffed toys, as well as plastic packaging or bags near your baby, as this can also cause suffocation.
Use safety seats when going out in the car

Use a car seat for babies every time they ride the car. For babies aged 7 to 12 months, it is generally recommended to use a rear-facing car safety seat and place it in the back seat of the car. The baby's face should be facing backward when sitting. Don't hold babies in a car, let alone sit in the passenger seat with them, as this can easily lead to danger.
